Catrin Samiir
(Fawley Samarai x
Ros Skybird)
Catrin Samiir, known at home
as Sami, is a grey purebred
Arabian gelding foaled on the 12th January 1999.
He was
the first foal bred by us and the first foal for his dam, our
foundation
mare Ros Skybird.
Sky has since been lost to us
after a battle with colic, she gave us 3 colts, 2
of which are now
geldings. As one of these, and the first, Sami has been
retained
as Kathi's riding horse to perpetuate the memory of his dam at

the
stud. His name "Samiir" was chosen as it is Arabic for companion
- and this
is just what he is!
Sami is a wonderful
personality, who can often be found romping in
his paddock at leisure, playing
with his favourite paddock toy - a "Jolly"
ball! When not relaxing at home
he is often found in the showring
where he has proven to be successful in hand
with several
Championships and Reserves at 'A' and 'B' class shows. Sami
was
judged Supreme Purebred Arabian at the 2003 Harvey Agricultural
Show and was
awarded 2003 State Reserve Champion Led
Purebred Gelding shown by an Amateur.
He has been started under
saddle and attends many adult riding club rally days with Kathi.
He is also a wonderful "Uncle" for the foals, keeping them company
at weaning time.
Sami is a special horse
whose temperament epitomizes the close
relationship an Arabian can have with
"his" humans!
