News... August 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our stunning Niyazon son, Catrin Bashoosh, due to a dreadful paddock accident. We had been looking forward to an exciting future for him and are devastated by his loss. On a happier note, we are pleased to announce the lease of the very beautiful and well performed purebred mare, Kainui Park Bint Kazareh. By the stunning Clifton Park Naadar (Nile x Nazli) and out of the Egyptian/Crabbet mare, Kazareh, she will arrive this Spring for a couple of seasons. We are very excited by this opportunity and sincerely thank her owner, Marianne Schofield, for allowing her to join us for a couple of years. Look out for her foal by Niyazon in 2011! May 2010 We welcomed our lovely daughter, Amelia Rose, into the world on April 27th at 9:43am. Amelia is an absolute joy to us, and big brother Alec is very proud and informs everyone he has a little sister at the first opportunity! Hopefully she will enjoy the horses and farm as much as her big brother! Congratulations to Felicity Williamson on her acquisition of the lovely Saran Dipity. We wish you all the best with her and look forward to hearing what you both get up to in the future! Good luck! We farewelled Silverbelle this month as she returned home to her owner, Ingrid Krockenberger, after the weaning of her stunning colt by Niyazon. We take this opportunity to once again thank Ingrid for the chance to include Belle in our breeding program and we look forward to bringing her son out to the shows as a yearling.
January 2010 Welcome to 2010! It is hot, dry and dusty at the farm now and the horses are all out in the paddocks enjoying their summer holidays!
We had a successful end to the show season with Niyazon being awarded the finalist sash in the stallion class at the 2009 State Championships back in November last year. He has proven very consistent in this class, winning it once and being awarded finalist (3rd) for the past 3 seasons. The judge this year was respected ECAHO judge, Renata Schibler, from Switzerland, and the show was judged for the first time using the point scoring system. Niyazon was only 1.5 points from the Reserve Championship!
We had two lovely colts born in October 2009 to lease mare Silverbelle (foal by Niyazon) and new arrival Arinya Park Safeera (foal by Eastwinds Monsaar). We are very pleased with these two boys, both of which will be available for purchase on weaning, along with our yearling Niyazon colt, out of Aaisfa (Aivu x Bremervale Maroussia). Please see the sales and foals pages for more information and photos.
We are anticipating a quiet year in 2010 for Catrin Arabians as due to the fact that we are expecting our second "people" child in early May we have not bred any mares and we will not be attending any of the shows with the horses. We are still looking forward to catching up with friends and fellow Arabian horse enthusiasts at the shows as spectators and look forward to getting back out into the ring in 2011! Kathi is eagerly anticipating being able to get back into riding and training Niyazon and is looking forward to starting his dressage career once back in the saddle!
